who we are

We are a diverse, vibrant & passionate club with a competitive focus. We train weekly down at Damian Leeding memorial Park here on the Gold Coast in the beautiful sunshine state QLD. We compete regularly at local, national & international competitions.

Our membership is comprised of different walks of life, cultures & age groups from beginners to seasoned paddlers. Dragon boating is a great vessel to develop a cohesive & supportive team environment. This sport is no contact & low impact whilst still giving you the satisfaction of a full body workout.

We aim to provide a club which allows everyone in the community to participate in the water sport we love in a supportive & inclusive environment.

strong foundations

Back in 2008 a small group of locals here on the Gold Coast (Te Pani Wicks, Rosann Tukiri and the late Matua Wayne Tukiri) started up a little club here in Coomera. After much negotiation with the Gold Coast City Council and a stack of paperwork, our training grounds were settled and confirmed to be what we now know as Damian Leeding Memorial park.

Fifteen years later, we're still proud stakeholders of the park serving the community through the spirit of Dragonboat, hosting events annually and holding a strong membership base for both juniors and adults.

changing of the guard

Throughout the years of our club, we've had many changes. The club was fortunate enough to have great coaches and leaders alike share their wisdom and knowledge before moving onto their next chapter in sport. The direction of the club also changed during the phases of reform and the changing of the guard, but one thing that's never changed is the foundation of our club. Our slogan always remained intact "You don't just paddle, you belong". A constant reminder to our members that this is more than just a sporting club. Something to be proud of and a club worth fighting for.

head coach hall of fame

We acknowledge our previous members who stood at the helm leading with a servant's heart, volunteering their years of services to the club.
