Assistant Coach
Karly Awatere
"As a professional in the health and fitness industry, my mission is to support our members with their health and fitness journey to best prepare them for the race course".
Karly brings to the table 12 years of dragon boat experience. Throughout her journey Karly has raced for the QLD state squad and represented Australia during the Hungary & Canada Campaign as the squad's lead stroke.
Karly's experience and knowledge will support her in both the assistant and junior coach role.

Head Coach
Jayden Awatere
"I lead with a deep passion for our sport and club. My desire is to see our people on the world stage representing the Coomera Dragon's brand with a strong moral compass and good sportsmanship".
Jayden joined the club in 2011 and has been a loyal member since. Competing at a national level as the state squad's captain and international level as the Aurora's captain for the Hungary campaign, Jayden's experience and knowledge of dragon boat will support him in the role of head coach.

Assistant Coach
Vaughan Eriksen
"Been in the game 15 years and love it just as much as the moment I picked up my first paddle. My goal is to support our paddlers with the technical side of paddling to give them the best advantage possible".
Vaughan brings a lot of experience in both Dragonboat and Waka ama. Representing QLD and Australia during the Tampa Bay Florida campaign, Vaughan knows the importance of efficient and effective paddling in a high performing environment.
